When a Bad Day Feels Like a Waste of Time

Some days just don’t go the way we want. No matter how much effort we put in, things still don’t work out. And when that happens, it feels like everything is falling apart.

Today was one of those days for me.

I woke up early, prepared for an important job interview, and drove 40 miles just to be there on time. But when I arrived, I had to wait for an extra hour before the interviewer even showed up. Finally, when the interview started, it lasted only five minutes. The moment I mentioned that I had dropped out of college, they told me they were not hiring undergraduates.

That was it. Just five minutes.

I had spent my whole day preparing, traveling, and waiting—only to hear something they could have told me earlier. It felt like my entire day was wasted. My energy, my time, and my hopes—gone in just a few minutes.

I know I’m not the only one who has faced a day like this. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, things don’t work in our favor. It makes us feel empty, unmotivated, and frustrated.

But I also know that bad days don’t last forever. It’s just a moment. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
